Nutella fixes everything
Tracking everything you eat is all fine and good until your appetite stops lining up with the data. There must be many a weight loss dieter out there facing the daily frustration of finding out they have already eaten too much, only to feel like they have hardly eaten anything. And perhaps there are other broken jaw blender dieters out there who, like me, lose their appetites because eating takes so much effort, even though they aren’t even coming close to getting enough calories.
Yesterday was one of those days. I was WAY under my suggested intake, and I only realized it at about 10 o’clock last night (at which point I had zero interest in another meal). After a fair bit of negotiating with Dan over how best to fix this problem, I started rummaging for things to blend. And then I remembered the secret ingredient we recently splurged on to try an ice cream recipe. Behold, the late night protein fix that fixes everything:
Nutella Banana Smoothie
- minimum 1 tbsp. nutella
- 1/2 large banana
- 1 cup 2% milk
- 4 tbsp. whole milk yogurt
- 1 scoop Spirutein
Blend and drink.
According to one of the nutrition calculators I’m trying out, this recipe contains:
Calories: 407, Total Fat: 12.97g, Total Carbs: 51.28g, Protein: 25.24g
The Spirutein jacks up those numbers (although it also adds in a lot of vitamins), so leave it out if you just want something tasty and dessert like but happen not to need the protein/extra 100 calories.
